EdTech B2B Administration & Seat Allocation Portal
Embedded B2B administration portal enabling 500+ client organizations to manage bulk seat allocations, student enrollments, and reporting.
Context
A major online course and creator education platform needed a streamlined way for its internal teams and enterprise B2B school and organization administrators to manage bulk student access, product seat allocations, and reporting directly inside the platform. Previously, managing large-scale enterprise seat allocations required manual backend interventions by the platform operations team.
What I Built
- Co-designed the data architecture for seat allocation and enrollment queries, validating and documenting the exact query parameters (organization ID, product access ID, user ID, school base URL) for stakeholder testing.
- Implemented core frontend features including published vs. unpublished product filtering, pagination for high-volume student rosters, and application access controls.
- Owned integration debugging by diagnosing API and workflow failures, analyzing error payloads, and resolving technical blockers with platform engineering.
- Interfaced directly with client product stakeholders to demonstrate working proof-of-concept builds, gather functional QA feedback, and drive launch readiness.
Decisions & Trade-offs
- Prioritized robust server-side pagination and targeted query parameterization over fetching complete organization records up-front, preventing browser performance degradation when loading enterprise schools with hundreds of seats.
- Designed embedded UI components to strictly inherit host platform proportions and visual styling so that the low-code portal felt like an integral part of the main application rather than an external iframe.
Result
The portal reached production and expanded into a customer-facing feature used by 500+ large client organizations, eliminating recurring manual seat provisioning for the platform's B2B operations team.
